Here are a few answers to some "Frequently Asked IT Questions."
A few of Computings simple mysteries solved.
  1. Q: What is the difference between Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows?

A: This seems to be a cause of much confusion. Office is software that contains such programs as Word, Excel and PowerPoint etc. These are used to create letters, spread sheets and presentations. Windows is an "Operating System." This is used as the base of your computer. It is everything you see when you first boot up and it is what runs your software, such as Office. An operating system of some description is required to run other software.

  2. Q: What is the difference between Memory and Disk Space?

A: Disk space is the amount of storage capacity on your hard disk. This is where all of your files are stored and where you have installed your programs to. The larger your hard drive capacity the more storage space you have.

Memory also known as RAM, is used to run your operating system and other software. The programs are loaded into the memory so that the processor or CPU can access it faster than reading directly off of the hard disk. When you shut down your computer, the memory is cleared. The more memory you have installed in your computer, the faster it will run your programs.
